State officials join clean-up effort

Posted: Thu 11:27 PM, Oct 25, 2012

WHITLEY CITY, Ky. (WYMT) - Two months after a huge fire at a southern Kentucky business, the state is moving in to help with the clean up process.

A fire took place at King Tire Recycling in McCreary County back in August.

Owners say they're financially unable to clean up the site.

So state officials are taking over to ensure there are no public health or environmental risks.

Officials say there is no immediate threat but clean up could take up to a year.
