PRESTONSBURG, Ky. (WYMT) - State officials are traveling across Kentucky looking for feedback on taxes.
Lt. Gov. Jerry Abramson was in Prestonsburg Tuesday night with the Blue Ribbon Commission on tax reform.
The meetings are designed to allow people to share ideas about how the commonwealth can keep tax rates fair and competitive with other states.
"To make sure there's an adequate amount of money when the recession is over and the economy comes back so that we can grow the kinds of funds necessary for state police, K-12 education, community colleges, universities, social services, mental health, etc," said Abramson.
Their next stop is in Lexington on August 21.
