LETCHER COUNTY, Ky. (WYMT) Kentucky Treasurer Todd Hollenbach is teaming up with county and city leaders across the state to return hundreds of thousands of dollars of unclaimed property.

But he needs your help!

On Tuesday, June 24th from 10 am- 2 pm, folks from Letcher County can come to the courthouse to claim the property.

Hollenbach needs volunteers to help lead the search.

“[We need people] who are willing to dedicate a little bit of time and who are likely to know a lot of folks to help us get money returned. It’s really been successful. We are not a wealthy Commonwealth, but we are wealthy in terms of people wanting to roll up their sleeves and really make their communities better places,” Hollenbach said.

He says there’s more than $700,000 worth of unclaimed property in Letcher County alone.

If you don’t live in Letcher County, Hollenbach says he will be visiting all 120 counties across the Commonwealth holding events like this one.
