State mandated gas tax will increase by 2 cents soon

You'll soon have to pay a little more at the pump, but this isn't your typical price increase.

Kentucky's gas tax will go up by about two cents on July first.

The Courier Journal reports the increase is part of a state law.

It ties Kentucky's gas tax to the average wholesale price of gas.

State officials expect the increase to generate about 57 million dollars more for the state road fund.
