State parks offering to help you get in shape for the new year

FRANKFORT, Ky. (AP) - If you have a New Year's resolution to get
healthier, four Kentucky parks are offering a good way to get
started.

All four are offering guided hikes on Jan. 1 as part of a
national effort called First Day Hikes to promote healthy
lifestyles. The participating parks are Cumberland Falls State
Resort Park in Corbin, E.P. "Tom" Sawyer State Park in
Louisville, Lake Barkley State Resort Park in Cadiz and Natural
Bridge State Resort Park in Slade.

The state parks in Kentucky have more than 250 miles of hiking
trails and many also offer other recreation, such as horseback
riding, camping, golf, fishing and boating.
