FRANKFORT, Ky. (AP) - Kentucky State Police are pushing enhanced enforcement for drivers over the New Year's holiday weekend.
As part of the "Drive Sober or Get Pulled Over" campaign, troopers will step up enforcement beginning at 6 p.m. Friday and extending through 11:59 p.m. on Monday.
During the 2010 New Year's Eve enforcement period, there were 949 crashes resulting in 316 injuries and three deaths.
The suspected use of alcohol was a factor in 64 of those collisions and two of the fatalities.
