State Representative Dewayne Bunch was injured during an incident at Whitley County High School six months ago.
Bunch also taught at the school and was trying to break up a fight between two students.
He was hit during the fight and suffered a head injury when he fell to the floor.
He had surgery to remove an infection from his brain and is still recovering in Atlanta.
"Our hopes and prayers are going out for Mr. bunch to get better. We hope that he can resume his position as representative very soon," said Whitley County Sheriff Colan Harrell.
Bunch's physical and mental conditions are unknown.
The two juveniles are still in a juvenile detention center.
