Stine won't run for Davis' congressional seat

FRANKFORT, Ky. (AP) - Republican Katie Stine has decided not to
join what could become a crowded field of candidates seeking to
replace retiring U.S. Rep. Geoff Davis.

Stine, second in command in the state Senate, said Wednesday she made the decision after conferring with her family over the past
couple of weeks.

Three major candidates already have announced they'll run -
Republicans Thomas Massie of Vanceburg, Gary Moore of Pleasant
Valley and Alecia Webb-Edgington of Fort Wright.

Webb-Edgington, a state representative, and Moore,
judge-executive in Boone County, jumped in within days of Davis'
December announcement that he wouldn't be seeking re-election.
Massie, judge-executive in Lewis County, announced his candidacy on Tuesday.

Davis said he is giving up the seat after his current term to
spend more time with his family.
