Storm Connection

Updated: Fri 12:13 AM, Apr 29, 2011

The sights and sounds of the deadly storms are hard to comprehend. Imagine having to survive as one of those tornadoes moves toward you. That is just what Roy McNiel, a Harlan County native had to do. He says he and his family barely escaped the wrath of a twister. "I had never seen this before ... being from harlan kentucky ... there was debris floating through the air ... roof shingles you know flying through the air."

One of the hardest hit areas was Tuscaloosa ... just fourty-five mintues away from where McNiel and his family lives. "All of the sudden live on tv we just saw this huge huge tornado start to happen right before our eyes ... that is when we knew it was not going to be good."

Mcniel says the community is coming together to pick themselves back up.
