Stretch of Mountain Parkway closing briefly

Posted: Mon 8:35 AM, Dec 17, 2012

CAMPTON, Ky. (AP) - A stretch of the Bert T. Combs Mountain Parkway in eastern Kentucky will be shut down for a couple of hours Monday while authorities try to reconstruct a fatal car crash that occurred last week.

The Transportation Cabinet says the closure will be near mile marker 46 east of Campton in Wolfe County and will last from around 10 a.m. to noon EST.

The plan is to detour eastbound traffic at Exit 43 onto Spur Kentucky 15 south, then east on Kentucky 191 to Helechawa to rejoin the Mountain Parkway. Westbound traffic will be rerouted at Exit 57 onto Kentucky 191 west, then north on Spur Kentucky 15 at Campton.
