Rounds of heavy rain will begin to move into the area later tonight, leading to the increased potential for flooding. A Flood Watch is in effect for the entire area from now through Thursday and a Winter Storm Warning goes into effect tomorrow. As we head into Wednesday, temperatures will drop and transition our rain to sleet and eventually to snow. Most of the area could see several inches of snow and sleet before it's all said and done. MANILA, Philippines (AP) - Officials say at least four people have died as the strongest typhoon this year slammed into the Philippines today.
Close to 720,000 people had been evacuated from towns and villages in the typhoon's path across the central Philippines.
Among them were thousands of residents of Bohol living in makeshift shelters after a magnitude 7.2 earthquake hit the island province last month.
