Student test scores to be released next week

FRANKFORT, Ky. (AP) - Results of the annual tests taken by
public school students statewide will be released next week.

The state Department of Education will make the results
available on its website at midnight Tuesday.

Lisa Gross, a spokeswoman for the department, says in a news
release the results will include scores from the outgoing Kentucky
Core Content Test and under the federal No Child Left Behind law.

Kentucky has begun to adopt a series of sweeping public
education reforms using the more rigorous Common Core State
Standards.

The state Board of Education has not yet finalized plans for new
assessments to accompany the changes. Kentucky is also seeking a
waiver to the No Child Left Behind requirements next year.
