Students Painting Windows for Veterans

Posted: Mon 5:54 PM, Nov 08, 2010

Some high schoolers in Perry County are honoring veterans using their paintbrushes.

Students from the art department at Perry Central High School spent the afternoon painting windows in honor of veterans at the Hazard Applebee's.

The murals include American flags, eagles, and military slogans. One student says they are glad to show support to those who have served.

"They went and fought for our freedom. They deserve us to show them support. They should have windows painted all year for them," said PCCHS senior Paula Napier.

Applebee's is offering free meals to all veterans and any active military soldier on Veteran's Day, which is Thursday.
