A group of students and teachers at Hazard High School joined together to honor the counties First Responders.
With the help of the Chamber of Commerce, the group was able to feed the first responders lunch and provide a little bit of entertainment.
Many of the students say they are too young to remember 9-11 vividly, but that the gesture is simply a great way to show their thanks.
“I just thought this was important to do for anybody like that just to say thank you,” Beau Davis said.
“Being a first responder, it’s very important to us to feel the love of the community for what we actually do,” Hazard Fire Chief Sam Stacy said.
The program ended with a "Walk of Honor" for the first responders.
