Students returned to class in Magoffin County for the first time since the tornado.
The Salyersville Grade School and Herald Whitaker Middle Schools remained closed due to damage.
Elementary students are now meeting in the old grade school and middle school students are moved to the high school.
The assistant superintendent said there were no major problems despite all the changes.
“The first day back, we had an effort that was unbelievable because it kind of went along real smooth and everybody worked together. It's amazing what you can do when everyone works together,” Assistant Superintendent Scott Helton said.
Counselors were also on hand at school.
Officials say all students had new school supplies thanks to all the donations.
