Police are searching for two suspects who tried to burglarize a pharmacy in Barbourville Tuesday night.

Surveillance video from the Hinkle Hometown Pharmacy shows how the two suspects tried to get in.

It started out as any other quiet night at the Hinkle Hometown Pharmacy in Barbourville until two men showed up at the back door with pantyhose covering their faces.

The two suspects hid behind an air conditioning unit for a few minutes before throwing a rock at the door shattering the door.

Police say the alarm went off, and the suspects immediately fled.

"The pharmacy owner was fortunate enough that they didn't gain entry, and they didn't take anything," said Detective Steve Owens with Barbourville Police.

This is the first attempt at a pharmacy theft in the city in sometime.

In fact, it's the first one at Hinkle Hometown Pharmacy ever.

"Generally the trends that we see with upswings in pharmacy burglaries coincide with street value of drugs or availability of drugs," said Owens.

He says they are patrolling pharmacies more closely after the first attempt, particularly looking for a second attempt by these two suspects.

If you have any information about the two suspects in the video, you should contact Barbourville Police.
