Updated: Wed 6:08 PM, Nov 14, 2012

JACKSON, Ky. (WYMT) - A man, allegedly involved in a Breathitt County standoff, is expected to make his first court appearance Thursday.

Johnathan Hays faces four counts of wanton endangerment and one count of menacing.

Police say Tuesday morning they went to his home after someone reported two men arguing at the house in Jackson.

When police arrived at the home no one would answer the door. As they were driving away, police heard gunshots.

Officials went back to the home and after a nine hour standoff, Hays surrendered and told police he had been asleep.
