LAUREL COUNTY, Ky. (WKYT) - Police are looking for a man they say led them on a chase through three counties on Interstate 75 Thursday night.
Police say the chase began around Richmond, when they tried to pull over a man in a truck for speeding.
"One of our deputies was going down the interstate going to a call he was around the 86 mile marker and passed our deputy at high rate of speed," said Sgt. Michael Marcum, from the Madison County Sheriff's office.
Police say the driver refused to stop, and during the chase, they realized the truck had been reported stolen in Ohio.
The chase then continued out of Madison County, through Rockcastle County, and into Laurel County.
Around mile marker 49, north of London, police say they placed spike strips across the road, in an effort to stop the truck.
At that point, police say the truck ran over the strips, and the suspect crashed about a mile down the road.
Police say the suspect then jumped out of the truck and ran into the woods. They haven't seen the suspect since.
Several police agencies are now looking for the man in the area of the crash.
"We don't know anything about him yet. We do know he is a white male he has a bald shaved head and goatee," said Marcum.
