Suspect in Ashland stabbing arrested in Lexington

A man wanted in connection with a stabbing in Ashland in September was arrested in Lexington, according to an Ashland Police Department news release.

Nathaniel "Shorty" Chapman, 18, was charged with criminal attempt to commit murder.

He was arrested after an Ashland Police detective received a tip that Chapman was reported to be in a Lexington home.

Lexington Police went to the home and found Chapman hiding in a closet.

Ashland Police say Jeffrey Rowe was stabbed 10 times with a knife on Sept. 10. The stabbing happened in the 1000 block of Belmont Street. Rowe was stabbed in the neck, arm, chest and back.
