Suspect will spend 12 years in prison

One suspect in a nine year old Martin County murder case will spend more than 12 years in prison.

David Jude was one of three suspects charged last year in the 2002 death of Patrick Calvin Blackburn.

Police say he was beaten and then his car staged to look like a wreck.

Jude pleaded guilty to the lesser charge of manslaughter.

Thursday, the judge sentenced him to 12 and a half years in prison.

The other suspects, Jerry Stepp and Jimmy Cornette Junior will be sentenced on July 21st.
