Governor Steve Beshear announced another country is reaching out to help Kentucky recover from a tornado outbreak.
The government of Taiwan gave $30,000 that will be used in the recovery from the February 29th and March 2nd storms.
Governor Beshear stood with members of the Taipei Economic and Cultural Office, which is based in Atlanta, to make the announcement.
"Today we are here to acknowledge and unexpected gift of money and compassion and concern from many miles away," said Governor Beshear.
Taiwan also donated money in 2011, after storms caused widespread damage and flooding in more than half the state's counties.
