Teacher has been charged with public intoxication

A Bell County High School teacher is now behind bars and charged with public intoxication.

48-year-old Thomas Baker of Cumberland Gap, Tennessee was arrested just before 11 Tuesday morning.

Kentucky State Police say they received a complaint that Baker was in the classroom under the influence of alcohol or drugs.

School administrators arranged for Baker to meet with troopers outside his classroom, where he was arrested.

He is being held in the Bell County Detention Center.
