A Bell County teacher is out of the classroom for now.

He was arrested on alcohol intoxication and drug possession charges.

Jail records show Dustin Cox was booked into the Bell County Detention Center on Thanksgiving Day.

He has since bonded out.

Bell County School Superintendent George Thompson confirmed to Mountain News that Cox is a fifth and sixth grade math teacher at the Page School.

Thompson says the district is investigating the situation and Cox has been removed from the classroom until their investigation is complete.
