Tennessee woman being held in Bell County on drug charges

MIDDLESBORO, Ky. (WYMT) - A Tennessee woman is being held on drug charges in Bell County.

The Middlesboro Police Department responded to a public nuisance call at the Parkview Motel on Wednesday.

When they got to the scene, one officer reported a strong chemical odor.

They say Wendy Proffitt answered the door and the officer saw smoke and meth cooking.

Proffitt faces multiple charges including first degree manufacturing methamphetamine.
