A tennis center in Ashland is helping high school players from West Liberty affected by devastating tornadoes last month by offering free clinics for them.
The severe storms spawned tornadoes that destroyed much of the town, including its six tennis courts.
Morgan County High School senior Jessica Crase says she lost her house and her job in the destruction. The third-year tennis player told The Independent that being able to play the sport again gives her some comfort - and leaves her with less time to think about everything she lost.
Crase was one of about two dozen players who attended free clinics offered by the Ashland Tennis Center recently.
Center manager Jerry Groce said he reached out to the school after tennis pros said they wanted to help.
