Investigators are still trying to determine what was inside two suspicious packages that closed a federal facility.
Emergency crews were called to the Kentucky Consular Center in Whitley County around 9:30 Tuesday morning.
The Williamsburg Police Chief tells WKYT that workers in the mail room called 911 after opening one of the packages which contained an unknown substance. A second similar package was then discovered.
Several tests have been done at the state lab on the unknown substance. All have comeback negative for anything harmful. Investigators still don't know exactly what the substance was.
The FBI is handling the investigation. They are trying to track down the person who mailed the packages to the facility.
We're told the facility will operate on a normal schedule Thursday.
