Texas man is arrested in Kentucky

A man from San Antonio, Texas is caught with two and a half pounds of marijuana in Bell County.

State police say they found the pot in the car during a traffic checkpoint at the Cumberland Gap Tunnel on Saturday in Middlesboro.

State police arrested 36 year old Douglas Eugene Hensley.

Hensley told us he was on the way to visit his family in Bell County, and claims he has a prescription to use the marijuana for medical purposes.

“I wasn't trying to do nothing stupid. I wasn't trying to go out and do like others do in this world. I just wanted to come home, visit my family, mamaw, papaw, uncles, aunts, that's just it, to visit and go back to Texas,” Hensley said.

State police are still investigating the intentions for the marijuana.
