PERRY Co., Ky. (WYMT) - Representatives from the Kentucky Transportation Cabinet, Department of Highways, District 10, hosted an open house meeting Thursday evening to discuss right-of-way plans in Perry County.

Project directors said the federally funded project has estimated construction costs between 30 to 35 million dollars.

The project would widen KY 15 between Morton Boulevard and Lower Second Creek Road.

Project directors said this would provide safer roads and meet current and future traffic demands.

"The biggest thing is for everybody to be open minded and come talk to us if they have any questions," said Project Development Branch Manager Aric Skaggs. "We'll try to answer them as best as possible."

Skaggs said the most common question from property owners is how or if their home will be effected.

He said communicating with those impacted by this project is their goal.

Program directors said the funding is there, however they will not begin until they have purchased all the necessary properties.

They also said this project could take about two years to complete.

If you have any questions call the Department of Highways, District 10 office at 606-666-8841.
