The clock is ticking for last minute holiday shoppers

Posted: Fri 10:10 PM, Dec 21, 2012

It’s the season of giving, sharing and buying.

Christmas is just days away and millions of shoppers are still scrambling to buy last-minute gifts for their loved ones.

People are still piling in to stores across the country hoping to get some last minute shopping done.

The National Retail Federation says the average person still has 50% of their Christmas shopping to do.

Some say they intentionally wait for the last minute sales.

The store manager at J.C. Penny in Hazard says retail traffic has slowed down a little this season due to an economic slump and the declining coal industry.

Some say shopping online is a good way to save money, time and the stress of fighting through big crowds.

Whether you are shopping online or at the store, many folks are moving quickly to finish buying presents to put underneath their Christmas tree.

If you still have last minute shopping to do, many retail stores will be open at varying hours up until Christmas Eve.
