Church leaders in the Pathfork community of Harlan County are asking for your help to track down some thieves!
They believe a bunch of bandits broke in Friday afternoon and stole thousands of dollars worth of items.
All is peaceful now at the Black Star Pentecostal Church.
"This is where our two lawn mowers were," said Pastor J.C. Craig.
But for Pastor Craig, Friday was a day of finding out what was left behind.
"I just said oh no they have broken into the church," said Craig.
Thieves kicked in doors and pried locks throughout the building.
A number of guitars are gone from the sanctuary, along with microphones, amplifiers, and other electronic equipment.
The thieves took the guitars out of their cases but did not steal the cases themselves.
The church has been the victim of thefts before. An air conditioning unit was stolen a couple months ago. Now it is locked up.
"Two or three months ago, out here in the back," said Craig.
Craig said the church will come together despite the thefts. But until they get an alarm system they will take steps to make sure nothing else gets swiped.
"Take turns. Sit here with the church for a while until we figure out what we're going to do," said Craig.
State Police in Harlan are investigating the case. They have not made any arrests.
