NASHVILLE, Tenn. (AP) - Country music newcomers Thompson Square
will be the celebrity guests aboard the 2011 Santa Train, which
delivers 15 tons of gifts and toys to children in Appalachia every
November.
Keifer and Shawna Thompson, the husband-and-wife act, will board
the train on its 69th annual trip from Shelby, Ky., to Kingsport,
Tenn., on Nov. 19.
The Santa Train makes 14 stops in Kentucky, Virginia and
Tennessee on the Saturday before Thanksgiving and volunteers from
CSX, Food City, the Kingsport Area Chamber of Commerce and Kids
Wish Network pass out gifts to thousands of children along the
route.
Shawna Thompson said in a press release that the train is "an
amazing opportunity to help spread the joys of Christmas."
