Eight years after police say a man was beaten to death in Martin County, three men are charged with his murder.
Jimmy Cornette Junior, David Jude, and Jerry Lee Stepp are accused of murdering Patrick Calvin Blackburn.
Police say two suspects, Jimmy Cornette Junior and Jerry Lee Stepp are in custody.
Police are searching for David Jude.
The Blackburn family says they are relieved the case is solved, but want the suspects behind bars.
Harvey Blackburn has waited for more than eight years to find out who might have killed his younger brother.
“I gave up hope but I never quit praying, god does answer prayers,” Harvey Blackburn said.
On June 23rd, 2002, Patrick Calvin Blackburn's car was found over a hill on Trace Fork.
Police say Blackburn was in the back seat covered in blood.
Police say he was beaten and then his car staged to look like a crash.
Investigators now say Jude, Stepp, and Cornette Junior are responsible.
All are indicted on murder charges.
“They're considered dangerous. They've been entered into NCIC as wanted persons, so they're entered all throughout the United States as wanted and hopefully in a short time, have the two we're looking for picked up,” Trooper Shaun Little said.
Police have not released a motive, but Harvey Blackburn is glad to finally get some answers.
If you see or know where Jude is, you should call Kentucky State Police or the Martin County Sheriff's Office.
Officials say Cornette will be brought to Martin County to face the charges, but no court dates are set yet.
