Several people were severely injured in a wreck including the Pike County Clerk and two children.

It happened on Sunday morning in Pikeville at the Buckley's Creek area.

Pikeville Police say Lillian Pearl Elliott was driving a Chevy Blazer and crashed head on into another car with a man and two young children inside.

All went to the hospital.

We're told Elliott went to a Lexington hospital for surgery, but does not have life threatening injuries.

Police are looking into it.

“It's still under investigation but it is believed the Blazer had run a red light,” Scotty Hamilton said.

Police say the other driver is Jeff Robinson.

There's no word on the condition of him or the two children.
