While a family is mourning the loss of a loved one ... tragedy strikes again.

A Bell County family was gathered at a Middlesboro home to get ready for a funeral.
While a person was leaving, a toddler ran into the path of a truck and was hit.

Lilly Mowen-Byrt was pronounced dead at a nearby hospital.

Family members say they cannot believe what happened.
Sue Hopper can no longer hold her great niece.
She can only hold on to the photos and the memories they shared.

"She was a sweet little angel... she was our baby girl," said Hopper.
Hopper was in town because her brother just died. Now she has to deal with the pain of another loss.

"All this happening with my brother... now this... I don't know what to do. It's hard. But I believe we will make it. I hope," said Hopper.

The funeral will be in Fort Wayne, Indiana later this week.

Police say they don't expect to file any charges because they believe this was an accident.
