Tornado victim receives prosthetic leg

A mother who lost both legs protecting her children from a tornado took a big step forward in her recovery Wednesday.

In Louisville, Stephanie Decker was fitted with the first of two prosthetic legs. She then practiced standing on it.

A tornado struck Decker's southern Indiana home on March 2. Her children were not hurt.

Decker says she's excited about the progress of her recovery.

"It feels awesome, it feels really good. It's very freeing. As I said, I get some of my independence back that I miss. I'm such an independent person. It feels good."

Decker is originally from Frankfort, but now lives in Indiana.
