Traffic delays expected on Hal Rogers between miles 14 and 19

Updated: Wed 7:05 PM, Sep 28, 2011

If you plan on driving between Manchester and London on the Hal Rogers Parkway, you might want to schedule a few extra minutes.

Resurfacing began this week between mile marker 14 and 19 on the Hal Rogers Parkway.

Officials with the Department of Highways say backups can be expected over the next few weeks, but to be patient. In the end the road will be much smoother and safer.

"You will see stopped traffic from time to time. One lane situations where you have significant backups," said Jonathan Dobson with the Department of Highways.

Dobson says the backups can happen suddenly. He suggests taking an alternate route if possible.

The $786,000 project should be finished October 15th.
