FRANKFORT, Ky. (WYMT) - A reminder from state transportation officials as we edge closer to election day.
Kentucky law prohibits the placement of political or other advertising signs too close to the roadway.
That includes signs attached to utility poles or fences.
Transportation officials say signs show up in greater numbers in the month prior to an election.
Any illegally placed signs will be removed.
Any removed signs will be kept for five working days at the state highway garage in each county.
Any unclaimed signs will be thrown away.
