The prosecution has rested its case in the murder trial of Clinton Douglas Skeens.
Skeens is charged in the stabbing death of Jess "Scott" Jarrell of Wayne County on Dec. 31, 2010. Jarrell was a former football coach at Wayne High School.
Tuesday's testimony began with medical experts going through their findings.
West Virginia State Trooper D. J. Chapman also took the stand, testifying how on the day of the murder, Skeens approached him in his patrol car and told him he was the one who killed Jarrell.
Chapman said at that point, he asked Skeens to place his hands on the cruiser, but Skeens refused and began to struggle with him.
Chapman said that they asked Skeens where this crime was committed, which then led them to the residence of Jarrell, where his body was found.
The defense will begin presenting its case at 9:30 Wednesday morning.
Skeens is expected to testify in his own defense.
