A truck carrying more than seven thousand gallons of diesel fuel overturned near the Rowdy community in Perry County.
Police say the driver lost control of the truck and ran off the road and into a ditch.
Several agencies responded to clean up the mess.
“Fortunately, it was diesel fuel instead of gasoline, so that's a lot better because the flash point is a lot better on diesel fuel than it is on gas, so it's not really a hazard to the community yet, we've got trucks here that are going to off load,” Tony Eversole said.
The accident shut down one lane for a few hours.
The driver was taken to Hazard ARH.
Police expected him to be treated and released.
