Two arrested in theft case

MIDDLESBORO, Ky. (WYMT) - Two arrests have been made after police say someone stole thousands of dollars worth of merchandise from a Middlesboro store.

Police say 42 year old Jeffrey Lee Laws and 30 year old Dennis Loop stole chainsaws, power tools, and other equipment from Blue Grass Motor Supply.

Loop is also accused of intimidating a witness in the investigation.

“Mr. Loop had contacted someone he had sold the stuff to and made threats to them if he talked to us or told us anything about it, that he would do harm to them,” Lt. David Buis said.

Loop and Laws are charged with receiving stolen property.

Police say the stolen items added up to nearly $10,000.
