Two coal companies face lawsuits

Two Perry County coal companies are facing lawsuits after allegations that employees were misled about the security of their jobs.

The Hazard Herald reports Frasure Creek Mining and Trinity Coal Corporation are being challenged with a suit from more than 135 former employees who were laid off earlier this year.

The suit alleges the companies did not give workers a 60 day notice required under the worker adjustment retraining notification act before termination.
