Two people indicted in Clay County murder case

MANCHESTER, Ky. -Two people have now been indicted in a Clay County murder case.

Joshua Morsch and Kathy Stewart were arrested Wednesday night in connection with the murder of Earl Woods, who was found dead in his home.

The nine count indictment that was returned Thursday charged Morsch with murder, first degree robbery, theft by unlawful taking of a firearm, and possession of a firearm by a convicted felon.

Stewart is facing complicity charges.

The commonwealth's attorney says he will seek the death penalty for both suspects.

"The fact that he went into some body's home and robbed them and violated the sanctity of that home and the gruesome act of the way he is killed, all of those factors make me decide this is a case that warrants the death penalty," said Commonwealth's Attorney Gary Gregory.

Both are being held with no bond.
