Two UPIKE football players injured in bar fight recovering

Two college football players were taken to the hospital after a huge fight at a night club early Sunday morning.

The incident happened outside of Yesterday's Night Club in Williamson. Police say the fight involved about 60 people.

Police say it all started over a girl inside the bar and then made its way outside. That's where police say there was a brawl involving dozens of people.

"After we finally got the crowd under somewhat control, we found out there were actually two individuals that were injured," Williamson Police Sergeant Grady Dotson said.

Police say they found University of Pikeville football player, Demetri Travis outside with a concussion, and teammate Branden Teasley inside with a severe stab wound.

"It was going on and on; police putting people in handcuffs and stuff, and it kept going on," a neighbor said.

Several arrests are pending including the stabbing suspect and some of the people involved in the fight that police say didn't follow their orders.

Police say they have responded to several calls to the club in the past few weeks, but they're working to get this on-going problem off the streets.

Yesterday's was not open Sunday and nobody with the club was available for comment.
