Kentucky State Police say two people were killed when their cars collided along US 460 in Morgan County.
The wreck happened about 10:00 this morning. Police say Christine Collier was driving up the hill out of West Liberty when she lost control of her truck. She spun across the highway, slamming into Willie Lewis' truck as he was coming down the hill. Both were pronounced dead on the scene. People who live here say it's a tragedy for the whole community.
"It's devastating for the friends and family that knew them all these years. It just hurts. We all go visit and send stuff like the old days we used to. It's just really horrible and sad that something Ike this happens," says Keith Barker.
Barker says he knew both Collier and Lewis. He says he's still not sure how to feel.
"When you drive by and you see it you don't know really how to act and respond. It's a close-knit county," he says.
He says one thing that will help the healing process is that people who live here are so close.
"We all gather around to help with each other. Just being around for the families is the main thing," says Barker.
Police say wet roads were a factor in the wreck.
