A Western Kentucky sheriff's deputy and a Kentucky State Police trooper who were injured in a shootout with a suspect have been released from the hospital.
Another deputy from Hopkins County, Jamie Lampton, is still in the hospital and scheduled for surgery.
They were responding to a call about a suicidal man late Monday afternoon when a standoff started in the community of Hanson.
Police say the suspect eventually shot at the officers.
According to state police, officers returned fire, killing Dustin Barnes, 25, of Hanson.
Deputy Lampton is expected to survive.
