Hazard, Ky. (WYMT) - The president of the University of Kentucky came to the mountains to speak to alumni at a dinner in Hazard on Thursday night.

Dr. Eli Capilouto has been president for just more than a year. He spoke to Quicksand UK Cooperative Extension employees and UK College of Agriculture graduates about the future of the university. One thing he mentioned was a promise for next year.

“We have made a commitment that not too many universities I think have made this far in advance and that is we are not going to increase our tuition any more than three percent,” said Capilouto.
“We are also introducing to our campus new living learning facilities, it is an ambitious plan we have and we are excited about expanding the core of our campus.”

Capilouto said he will be headed to Robinson Forest.
