UK Board of Trustees approves tuition hike

Updated: Tue 6:50 PM, May 08, 2012

UK students will be paying higher tuition next school year. The university's Board of Trustees voted Tuesday afternoon to hike tuition by 6%.

Last month, the council on post-secondary education voted to allow UK to raise tuition by 6%.

Students say the change will make it harder for them to get a higher education. "It's been happening every year, I don't know where they draw the line. Students are poor, we want to go to school, get an education, but it's just getting further and further out of reach for some people because we have to keep paying more and more money," said UK student Bryan James.
