There is no doubt when the Cats hit the floor Saturday, the Big Blue faithful will be in the stands ready to go. Having a seat at the Final Four is like having a golden ticket. For brothers Clarence and Joey Longworth of Harlan, they planned their trip banking on the hope that the Cats would be in New Orleans.
"For us to to get here was a lot of luck," said Clarence. "We planned this last year to come regardless, so our team being here just made it that much more special."
Scott Walters of Owensboro came to the Big Easy without a game plan and without tickets. His only option to see the Cats was watching them at Friday's open practice. And that's when his luck changed. Walters ended up being part of a biggest fan contest. If there is one thing this Wildcat fan knows how to do, it is cheer wildly.
"They just had a contest where they were going to give away some free tickets. The loudest craziest fan won so all these people got really loud and I got them over to this side. I went nuts in front of the guy who made the decision and they gave me some tickets."
Being part of the Big Blue faithful paid off. Walters now has two tickets and he's hoping to use his new found luck to extend his stay until Monday with his Cats.
"I'm going to use one of them and then hopefully going to flip the other one for championship game ticket."
