One UK fan will watch the game the best he can after breaking both ankles!

17 year old Chris Hedrick has casts on both legs now.

The doctors at Baptist Regional Medical Center managed to tie in the UK, UofL rivalry on the operating table!

17 year old Chris Hedrick loves UK basketball and motocross. However, due to a motocross accident, he will be watching the Final Four a little differently.

Thursday, he broke both ankles.

“The young guy had a great outlook on what was occurring and just had one request from the staff, to do something fun and exciting and bright with his casts,” Debbie Cashen said.

“I wanted a different color cast and they asked if I was a UK fan and I said yes,” Hedrick said.

But when he woke up from surgery, he saw more than he wanted. One was blue and the other was Cardinal red.

“I didn't know what to think really. I just stood there in awe and stared at them for awhile,” Hedrick said.

The operating room staff who are half UK and half U of L fans decided to have some fun.

“The OR staff decided since we had a big UK - UofL rivalry in the NCAA, that they would do one red and one blue cast. The patient was a winner either way it went,” Cashen said.

Hedrick got a good laugh, but says the red will go.

“I figured I'd cover it up in the end. I'll get some spray paint or something,” Hedrick said.

Says his dream now is to get the Kentucky team to sign his cast.
