ERCIS, Turkey (AP) - Rain, snow, a rising death toll and another temblor continue to cast a pall over Turkey today in the wake of a 7.2 magnitude earthquake that has now killed at least 534 people.
The prime minister's center for crisis and emergency management says 2,300 people were injured and 185 have been pulled from the rubble alive since Sunday's big quake, including a teen-ager rescued today.
The bad weather adds further misery for thousands left homeless in eastern Turkey. The new quake in a neighboring province registered at magnitude 5.4.
Today's temblor about 90 miles from the epicenter of Sunday's quake sent people rushing out of buildings in fear and panic. No damage was reported but NTV television said some people were slightly injured.
Turkey is rushing in tents and other aid and accepting international assistance.
